Be ready to reel in some nice size fish in our relatively shallow river. The Shiawassee is a favorite of fly fishers catching smallmouth bass. Other varieties that may be hooked include: walleye, carp, suckers, rock bass, pike and blue gill. It is not uncommon to see raccoons, beaver, great blue heron, white-tailed deer, and Kingfisher. Be sure to keep your eye out for Bald Eagles as well.
